About us

India First Reports is an independent digital news platform committed to fearless journalism, factual integrity, and citizen-driven storytelling. Founded by award-nominated investigative journalist Waqar Ahmed, the platform was created out of a growing need for honest, on-the-ground reporting in an era dominated by sensationalism and clickbait headlines.

Our core mission is simple yet powerful to hold those in power accountable, amplify the voices of everyday citizens, and spotlight the stories that matter most. Whether those stories arise from the corridors of power in New Delhi or from the dusty lanes of a forgotten village, we believe every voice deserves to be heard and every truth deserves to be told.

Launched in April 2025 as a YouTube-first initiative, India First Reports quickly gained momentum by tapping into an underserved audience hungry for real journalism. Within just three months of its inception, we built a loyal and active community of more than 50,000 subscribers  a number that continues to grow organically, driven by the strength of our content and the trust of our viewers.

At India First Reports, we don’t simply chase headlines; we chase depth, nuance, and truth. Our editorial vision prioritizes investigative crime stories, political scrutiny, grassroots reporting, and fact-check journalism. We dive deep into issues often ignored by mainstream outlets  from land rights conflicts and police misconduct to bureaucratic apathy and systemic corruption. These are not just news stories for us; they are human stories that impact real lives.

Our reporting style blends traditional journalistic rigour with the power of visual storytelling. Every video we produce is crafted with care combining authentic field footage, archival references, detailed scripting, and a gripping narrative structure. We believe that the most powerful journalism is not just factually accurate, but emotionally resonant.

Language is a crucial part of our identity. India First Reports produces content in both Hindi and English, ensuring accessibility and relatability across India’s vast and diverse audience base. We don’t just translate language we translate emotion, culture, and context, so our stories resonate with both urban millennials and rural elders alike.

What sets us apart is our citizen-first approach. We actively engage with our audience not just as viewers, but as participants in the journalistic process. Many of our stories originate from citizen tips, on-ground sources, and hyperlocal networks that mainstream media often overlooks. This has helped us break exclusive stories and offer perspectives that would otherwise remain buried.

Our founder, Waqar Ahmed, brings years of field experience and a fierce commitment to truth-telling. Having reported on crime, politics, communal violence, and grassroots movements, his reputation for ethical journalism and community-driven storytelling forms the backbone of this platform. His vision has always been to create a newsroom that is free from corporate pressure, political influence, or editorial compromise.

In a time when media trust is eroding globally, India First Reports stands as a counter-narrative a platform that doesn’t sell outrage but serves the truth. We don’t sensationalize crime; we investigate it. We don’t mimic power; we question it. We don’t promote fear; we foster understanding.

India First Reports is more than a news channel it’s a movement. A movement to reclaim journalism as a tool for justice, awareness, and empowerment. A movement to remind people that information is a public right, not a commercial product. And a movement to ensure that no story no matter how small or inconvenient is left untold.

Our newsroom may be small, but our ambition is vast. With mobile cameras, mics, notepads, and an unshakeable sense of purpose, we continue to travel across towns, cities, and villages bringing stories that would otherwise remain unheard.

As we grow, we remain committed to transparency, editorial independence, and community accountability. We are supported by our audience, not advertisers. We report for the people, not for power. Every view, every share, and every comment strengthens our resolve to keep pushing the boundaries of what independent journalism can achieve.

India First Reports isn’t here to make noise. We’re here to make a difference one story at a time.
